Hi there, I'm Mila

I work as a project manager and am a parent. I am an expatriate living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Netherlands wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a work chance and quickly grew into something far larger.

The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more challenging than anticipated.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.

Why I Built Marble Sage Grove

Most information online tended to be corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.

This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Netherlands.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site is:

  • Practical experience from living in Netherlands
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated only when a meaningful change occurs

This site isn't:

  • A tourism authority resource
  • Sponsored review platform
  • A generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our time in Netherlands goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please feel free to contact us.

Cheers,

Mila
